Getting started: This is a clinical test; therefore, we need your physician’s participation. There are two ways for us to get that information:

  1. You can discuss this directly with your physician and once you have agreed on ordering the test, email us with your physician’s name, phone and email. 

  2. You can email us with your physician’s name and contact information and we will contact them on your behalf

Sample Collection: Once registered, we’ll ship a simple saliva collection kit directly to your home for easy use.

Results & Counseling: In just 5 weeks, you’ll receive a detailed report on the findings. We also provide access to genetic counseling to answer any questions about your genetic results.

FAQs

  • There is no co-pay or out-of-pocket cost to Colorado patients covered by Medicaid. For patients who are not covered by Medicaid, the out-of-pocket cost is $2,500 and is HSA/FSA eligible. 

  • Most genetic tests are based on panels that include a few dozen to a few hundred possible genes. The Emerge test covers the whole genome to identify genetic variants known to cause over 7,000 rare diseases.

  • You own your data, all of it, exclusively. In the future, there may be additional questions about your genome (such as genetic carrier status or susceptibility to cancer or metabolic disease) that you can request through Jura Health without having to repeat sequencing.

  • Symptoms of rare diseases vary widely but can include chronic pain, intellectual disabilities, birth defects (such as cleft palate or heart defects), seizures, growth delays, decreased or excessive muscle tone, autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, hearing or vision problems, muscle control issues, or failure to thrive.

  • Your genetic data will be cross-analyzed along with your symptoms using industry-leading  artificial intelligence. The report comes from clinical scientist at The Broad Institute. See a sample report here.
